My name is Riley Knopf, and I currently work as a fifth-grade teacher. While at work, part of my teaching team is my current service dog, Theo. For the past seven years, Theo has worked lovingly and diligently assisting with my stability and alerting myself and others to medical episodes. In my everyday life, I struggle with POTS and endometriosis. These two conditions often cause me to pass out, have irregular blood pressure, cough up blood, instability when walking, and much more. Before getting Theo, I struggled with my independence. However, Theo has been able to show me that I am capable of much more than I think. All of this while providing me peace of mind. Unfortunately, Theo has been diagnosed with a heart condition and needs to retire earlier than planned. Through research, and a bit of luck, I am lucky to have found Shadow. She is a three year old black lab, who is currently being trained as Theo's replacement. Because of Theo's unplanned retirement, we are looking for donations to help pay for Shadow and her specialty training. Any amount helps, so please spread the word.
